Last week, we were excited to find out that we would be participating in the American City Business Journals’ Social Madness contest. Initially, we will be competing with other companies in southeastern Wisconsin with fewer than 100 employees. The first round of the contest begins June 1 and ends on June 18.
How it works
Social Madness is a contest sponsored by the various Business Journals around the country that will seek to measure the effectiveness of our social media presence across Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. In the first phase, we will be measured by the number of followers, connections, likes and votes on the official website that we receive during that 18-day period.
In keeping with quality connections
We have worked hard to grow our social media presence through online chats, sharing of information and, of course, engagement. Our goal is to create and maintain quality connections within our industry.
In keeping with that goal, we did not want to gain more connections for the contest by simply asking for them. We want to earn new connections. Therefore, we have come up with a special campaign for the first round of the contest. We are calling it “18 Days of Color.”
The 18 Days of Color
Beginning June 1 and ending on June 18, we will post a social media update from either Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn that used a color reference to evoke emotion as it pertains to business. We will share the color, its CMYK designation, the emotion it caused and then link to the original post. We will also write a short post on this site to give a little background and describe why it was chosen. We will share the post on our social media networks each day as well.
Anyone can be part of our campaign. If you see or post a status update about color for your business or to describe a business situation, please contact us using this form or through one of our social media networks and we will see if it fits into the 18 Days of Color.
The fun starts tomorrow so feel free to share the news! We hope you enjoy the 18 Days of Color and please wish us luck in the first round of the Social Madness contest.
