The color of the day is …
The color of beige is brought to you through a tweet by Canadian actor Michael Shanks. “Painting the town red” is a common cliche that generally means staying out late in a party-like atmosphere. Shanks jokes that since he’s now over 40 he can only paint the town beige, bringing to mind a more calm and quiet kind of evening. Beige is commonly used to express feelings of neutrality and calmness and Shanks does a good job bringing that emotion home here.
