Special Instructions

When connecting to the DTP41, the X-Rite AutoScan Settings option is available in the Color Bar Editor.

It is important to configure the settings in this box correctly. Both the Swatch Width Size and the Swatch Gap Size must conform to the limits published by X-Rite for strip design. Documentation should have been provided with your instrument or should be available on-line at the X-Rite web-site. DTP41TargetGuide.pdf

If the values are not set correctly you are likely to get an ‘Error #2′ If you get this error re-start ColorMetrix and edit the Swatch Width Size and the Swatch Gap Size until the error does not occur.

The instrument is also very sensitive to the lead-in length, as well as being “disturbed” while attempting to guide a strip straight through.

Also, specifying gaps, even if they exist on your color bar, does not seem to work well. For instance, if you have 9mm swatches, with 1mm gaps, try specifying that the swatches are 10mm with 0mm gaps.
