Special Instructions
For ColorMetrix to be able to communicate with a X-Rite 500 series instrument, the instrument must first be configured to the RCI communications protocol:
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Protocol: “RCI”
This is usually all that is necessary, as ColorMetrix configures most of the remaining settings through the serial port. But if you are still having problems communicating with the instrument, you should also configure these settings as well:
- Configuration -> Active Functions: “>Density”
- Configuration -> Active Functions: “>Color”
- Configuration -> Density Opt -> Status: “T”
- Configuration -> Density Opt -> Precision: “Normal”
- Configuration -> Color Option -> Lab Method: “CIE”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Baud Rate: “9600″
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Hand Shake: “Off”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Auto XMT: “Off”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Separator: “Space”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Delimiter: “CRLF”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Protocol: “RCI”
- Configuration -> Serial Port -> Emulation: “Normal”
- Configuration -> User Config: “US”
