My X-Rite DTP41 keeps giving me a “Trouble Communicating Error”

This error usually occurs during reading of calibration strip.

The X-Rite DTP41 sometimes has a hard time pulling the calibration bar through. ColorMetrix has found that if you apply mild pressure to top, the control strip will pull though evenly. Laying one or two fingers on the top of the device should be enough pressure.
